Plant-based foods are delicious
@bestofplant was created by my sister-in-law in Australia, exploring plant-based foods down under. When I moved to America, early in 2020, I was amazed at the huge selection available. I was inspired and that’s how Best of Plant USA was created. It seemed appropriate, especially now when everyone seems to be jumping on the plant-based bandwagon. Now, when half my friends, enthusiastic carnivores, seem to be trying a bit harder to eat less and less meat. However, this blog is all from a taste-perspective, with no righteous agenda other than how it eats. We hope to inspire you to try a few plant-based options from time to time.
All in the plant-based family
Alex and I are not full vegans or even vegetarian but we enjoy our veggie meat, tucking it into meals when we can. In my immediate family, everyone but me is mostly vegetarian. My husband is 100% vegetarian and has been his whole life. My kids are about 85% (they’ll make an exception if it involves chicken wings). We actually eat mostly vegetarian at home so quick, easy veggie protein is something I always look out for.

I used to slave over my setain (aka gluten) steaks, nut loaves and TVP (textured vegetable protein) sauces regularly. They will always be part of my repertoire. But since there are so many plant-based foods available, why not eat our way through them.
