Vanilla Beige is run by Angela Manners from Sydney, Australia. This page explains what’s collected when you visit vanillabeige.com and what happens to it. I follow the Australian Privacy Principles, and the sections near the end cover readers in Singapore, the EU and the UK.
What I collect
- When you email me: your name, your email address and your message.
- When you sign up for emails: your name and email address, stored with Mailchimp and used only to send what you signed up for. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- When you comment: your name, your email address, your comment and your IP address. Your name and comment are public. Comments are checked for spam by Akismet (Automattic).
- Automatically: your browser, device, the pages you visit and your approximate location, through cookies.
I no longer sell anything on this site. Etsy’s and Amazon’s privacy policies apply when you buy there.
Cookies
The CookieYes banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time. You can also block cookies in your browser.
- Google Analytics: counts visits and shows which posts people read.
- Google AdSense: Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can turn off personalised ads at adssettings.google.com.
- Meta Pixel: tells Facebook and Instagram which pages were visited, so I can measure and reach readers there.
- Amazon: I’m in the Amazon Associates Program. When you click an Amazon link, Amazon and other third parties may set cookies to track the referral.
Who else handles your information
My host (Bluehost), Cloudflare, Google, Meta, Mailchimp, Automattic and Amazon. Most of them are based in the United States, so your information may be stored there. I don’t sell your personal information.
Keeping it safe
Your information is held in password-protected accounts that only I can access, and I delete it when it’s no longer needed.
Your rights, wherever you are
Email hello@vanillabeige.com to see, correct or delete your information, or to withdraw your consent. I’ll reply within 30 days.
- Australia: if you’re unhappy with my reply, you can complain to the OAIC (oaic.gov.au).
- Singapore: you have rights under the PDPA. My contact for data protection is hello@vanillabeige.com.
- EU and UK: you have rights under the GDPR. Cookies that aren’t essential are set only with your consent through the banner.
