Top Three Coffee Spots of the Week (Round 5)

Our latest top three cafés will take us all over the island – One-North, Botanical Gardens and Seletar
Bees Knees Cafe

Finally! I’ve gotten around to my Top Three Coffee Spots of the Week! Obviously, it’s not “of the week” anymore seeing as December was our last post on this. The only fix to this problem would be for me to go forth and drink more coffee! Anyone want to join me?

Until next time, enjoy my latest finds.

Revolution Coffee

This is in a random spot but it’s pretty close to me. Housed in the big stand-alone building that reads Infinite Studios, you wonder who comes here but the workers in the offices… And that being the case, would the coffee be any good? Yes it is. And the banana bread is pretty good too.

Revolution Cafe

Though it seems that Revolution is actually famous for its Nasi Lemak made by Chef Shen. I’ve had the “light” $2.50 version several times (just cause I usually go there after breakfast, it’s too early for lunch… but how could anyone resist!). I’m dying to try their add on extras like rendang and fried chicken). The rice is just so perfect, light, fluffy, coconutty, packed with flavour. I’d be more than happy with just the signature rice and their two types of sambal.

Revolution Nasi Lemak

I also like that the outdoors is super relaxed, even if it is in a strange concrete building. I almost picked my 2yo’s childcare based on Revolution being here!

Bee’s Knees

Bees Knees Cafe

What is not to love about a café located right in the midst of the gorgeous Singapore Botanical Gardens… Well, actually, places like this can sometimes be hit and miss with the food and coffee. Lucky for us though, I found it a lovely spot for some decent food and a nice coffee as well. I went one afternoon and had their pasta then again for brunch. I left wondering why I don’t frequent the Botanical Gardens more!

Bees Knees Singapore Botanical Gardens

Sure, my coffee didn’t come with a beautiful heart, perfectly poured across the top but it was a good coffee. Now that I’ve switched to black means that the prettiness of my cup doesn’t really mean that much, other than being able to post it to Instagram. I am absolutely dying to come back and try the restaurant upstairs called Botanico. It looks like it would be the bee’s knees! 😉

Wheeler’s Estate

Wheelers Estate

Why have I chosen to highlight Wheeler’s Estate even though I was there around 5pm, not staying for dinner and all they could give me was coffee? Oh and also, why do I only have one picture of their coffee mug when really, what sells Wheeler’s Estate is the beautiful black and white property it is in? Oh and the beautiful, grassy lawn with huge playground nearby?

I would love to go back one afternoon with the kids for a lazy time, sitting out – alfresco style, taking in some of their live music. When I do, I will report back again but I thought Wheeler’s Estate was worth being in my Top Three this time because it’s just one of those unique locations that you must go see and decide for yourself if it’s worth heading back.

It is very, very far away (by Singapore standards) if you don’t live out that way. But it’s sort of like leaving the big smoke and going to the country for the weekend. Therein lies the appeal. Wheeler’s Estate has the casual café on ground level and a fancy restaurant on level 2. If you go, please tell me what you thought.
